The Dept. of Nephrology diagnoses and treats diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract. Common renal diseases include hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, glomerular diseases (nephritis), renal failure, urinary tract infection and electrolyte and acid – base disorders.
Renal diseases can result in such problems as hypertension, swelling, hematuria and proteinuria. However, in many cases, patients do not feel the symptoms clearly.
The Dept. of Nephrology is operating an artificial kidney room for the treatment of acute and chronic renal failure. Offering hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, the artificial kidney room also provides renal failure patients with education on correction of living habits and corrects diet together with consultation on long-term treatment plans.
