In the Dept. of Gastroenterology, specialists for various gastroenteric diseases, such as diseases of the esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, pancreas and biliary tract, provides the best treatment service based on their up-to-date knowledge and vast clinical experiences. In addition, the Dept. of Gastroenterology handles R&D and training for disease treatment methods.

In addition to general endoscopic examinations to diagnose diseases of the esophagus, stomach and colon, the Dept. of Gastroenterology conducts ultrasonic endoscopic examinations together with endoscopic resection for treatment of early stomach cancer and colon polyps, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography for treatment of cholelithiasis and palliative treatment of cholangiocarcinoma and endoscopy for treatment of esophageal and gastric varix.
